Glenn Howard, nominated by Paul Stack,
was born in Midland, Ontario, and now resides in Tiny Township. Known worldwide as one of the greatest curlers of all time, Glenn was the third on his brother Russ’ team as they won world championships in 1987 and 1993 while curling out of the Penetanguishene Curling Club. Forming his own team, the Glenn Howard team has had unequalled success. He has now has won four Briers and four world championships in his career, not to mention numerous bonspiels and victories including 12 Grand Slam of Curling events. He has won 15 Ontario provincial championships, and a record eight straight, since 2006. As of this past season, he had played in a record 182 games at the Brier. His final shot to win the 2009 Brier is still considered one of the greatest curling shots of all time. His credentials and accomplishments are too numerous to list.
